I believe that many people have such an experience: when opening the wine with the bottle opener, the wooden stopper breaks from the middle, and a wooden stopper unfortunately remains in the bottleneck and cannot come out.
What should I do if I encounter a broken block? Don't panic, follow these steps:
The first step should be to observe the condition of the stopper stuck in the bottle.
If the bottle envelope is still wrapped around the neck, remove it entirely, so that it can be handled later.
Carefully wipe the mouth of the bottle with a square towel.
Do not continue to drill the corkscrew into the remaining half of the cork stopper in the old way, it will be easy to press the cork into the bottle and contaminate the wine.
Then tilt the bottle 45 degrees
Use a bottle opener to carefully and slowly drill into the stopper from the break of the stopper, at this time, because the force is inclined towards the bottle wall, it is not easy to push the remaining wooden stopper into the bottle. When the corkscrew is drilled into the cork again, place the bottle body and carefully lift the cork. If you find that the broken stopper is too short, do not hesitate to drill it directly.
Find a coffee filter, gauze, or other strainer
If there is a broken plug or the residue of the cork has fallen into the bottle, you should find a coffee filter paper, gauze or other strainer to filter the wine as soon as possible.
