Starting From September 1, 2025, Russia Will Implement A Ban On The Production Of Three Types Of PET Packaging (bottles)

1.Food-grade polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles of all colors except transparent, blue, green, brown, and white. The packaging must be marked with PET or PETE, or with the number 01 or 1;

2.PET packaging with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) labels, except for shrink labels. The packaging must bear the markings PVC or V, or the number 03 or 3 in combination with PET/PETE or 01/1;

3.Multi-layer PET bottles marked as Other or O, or with the number 07 or 7.

The ban is due to significant difficulties in recycling these materials.
