Natural plugs
There is a natural stopper, named because it has not undergone special treatment, natural stopper has the characteristics of having many small holes in appearance, but the small holes disappear after being squeezed into the bottle. Other treated cork stoppers are divided into special grade, super to first, second, and third grades according to their surface fine pore size, whether there is hardwood on the surface and surface roughness.
Low-grade cork stoppers cannot be used for direct bottling, as their surface has many jagged pores and too large gaps, which can cause spillage. Therefore, such a cork is further processed, that is, the small hole is filled, that is, the filling treatment. The general process is to first mix the cork chips generated when treating the cork with glue, and then roll it on the processor with the cork, and the large hole can be filled, and finally a filling plug with no obvious small holes, but the filling marks can be seen.
Composite plugs
There is also a kind of cork called composite plug, and Wang Wen Shengyi knows that it must be processed from several raw materials. Yes, composite plugs are made by mixing some cork grains with glue and filling them into molds and pressing, but how can cork be granular? Cork grains are of course not all-natural, they are made from leftovers left over from the processing of cork stoppers or cork stoppers with particularly large pore diameters that are crushed by a pulverizer. At the same time, because of the different molds, composite plugs can be made into different shapes and specifications according to needs, and its biggest feature is that obvious particles can be seen bonded together.
Careful friends will find that the champagne stopper is a composite of two stoppers, the main body of which is a composite stopper, but there is a section with two or three pieces of natural cork of uneven thickness. With the development of technology and the need for use, most of the current cork stoppers are compounded by the above kinds of stoppers. Champagne stoppers are proof of this.
